Tractile has been invited in 2010 to participate in a world leading research project into the Embodied Energy of Composite Materials. Initiated by the Queensland Government Office of Advanced Manufacturing as part of the Fibre Composite Action Plan, and delivered by the University of New South Wales. This project evaluated Tractile’s green credentials. Made from high-strength and light-weight composite materials, Tractile out-performed both concrete tiles and steel-sheet roofing.
More specifically, the research shows the following:
- MJ: Tractile is 8 times more sustainable than concrete and steel
- Kg of CO2: Tractile is 4.5 times more sustainable than concrete and steel
- Eco-Indicator Points: Tractile is 5 times more sustainable than concrete and steel
